Interested in Helping Out and Getting Involved?
You live in Birmingham and love it - show our students that they can, too!
Currently there are over 900 Jewish students at the University of Alabama, and every week approximately 125-150 come together for Shabbat dinners and Sunday brunches. They connect with their Jewish identity and love getting together and living in Alabama. These are the type of young professionals that we need to grow our Birmingham Jewish community and temple memberships. Their passion stimulated the development of the "Hillel Connections" Program.
We also are working with Jewish students at UAB, Birmingham Southern, and Auburn University. We want to show all of these students that the Birmingham community wants them here. Please fill out the form below and return it to us at hillel.connections@gmail.com if you'd like to get involved and help our community grow!

Sponsor a Student
We are most grateful to our sponsors, the Nina & Norman Cohen NextGen Fund of the Grafman Endowment Fund for Temple Emanu-El, the Birmingham Jewish Foundation and Federation and the Levite Jewish Community Center, plus many visionary individual donors.
Funding is needed to cover living and programming expenses for interns including dorm/apartment rent, Shabbat dinners, Torah study with the Rabbis, visit to Vulcan, Civil Rights Institute, and other events. Please volunteer to provide dinner or an event in your home, free housing for a student this summer, or sponsor a student's summer $2000.00 (or share sponsorship with a friend).
Contributions may be sent to the Birmingham Jewish Foundation OR Link to the Hillel website by clicking the button below, find the "Donate" header and "Buy Now" to specify your desired gift and amount of donation.
You can also volunteer on the Community Interest Form above. We sure appreciate your help!
